We arrived in Pisa quite late in the day, so having a 24-hour check-in facility was useful for us. The rooms are quite basic, just as you'd expect from a former monastery. Ours had a very modern en-suite bathroom, a good size, & we never experienced any problems with the hot water supply. The room was quiet & our sleep undisturbed. The hotel staff were very friendly & the free map of Pisa was invaluable. The buffet breakfast was adequate. We ate dinner with a bottle of wine at the hotel, which was superb value for money. we didn't find a better pizza during the rest of our 2 weeks at various locations across Italy. The location is excellent. Everything (the sights, the river, the station, the airport) is within easy walking distance - or just a few Euros in a taxi.
Take your own towels. Those supplied in the bathroom are paper-thin & barely adequate. We only stayed for 2 nights, having flown to Pisa on our way to Florence. Once you have seen the Tower, the Duomo & the Arno there's not a lot else to do in Pisa. We wouldn't haved wanted to stay any longer - although the hotel itself is really nice. The hotel is in right in the flightpath of the airport. Not a problem, as there are no night-flights - as long as you don't want a lie-in!! (The church bells start at the same time as the first flight of the day - about 7.30am-ish).
This is really a wonderfull place - the building itself is so nice! The courtyard is wonderfull and everything is very clean. Beds were really comfortable, rest of the room is basic but in very good condition. It is within convenient walking distance of the center of Pisa - on the walk to the center you will find nice places to eat and do some shopping, but also nice buildings. The hotel itself is great, especially when you take into account what you pay for it. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly.
Some personnel didn´t speak English, so we had to wait a bit before we could check out. But that was just a small problem; took only about 15 minutes longer.
The ambiance was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and helpful
Really lovely place to stay. Wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast under cover in the cloisters was not only delicious but a beautifully calm start to a busy day of culture vulturing in Pisa. We borrowed a brolly which was very useful as it tipped with rain soon after we set off.
Nothing. No complaints at all.
The monestery dated back hundreds of years, the architecture is stunning. It was 10 minutes from the airport to the hotel. Its put you in a different centuary. The linen sheets were supurb. Rooms are plainly furnished but everything works. Would not hesitate to return. 9 Euro Taxi ride from airport.
Such a beautiful and unusual hotel
Good quiet and peaceful place to stay, Good facilities and great breakfast
The hotel is a peaceful and unique site that makes for a very interesting stay. We loved the beautiful cloister. The location is outside of the main drag, but not far to walk and you can get some idea of Pisa that most tourists will not see. The room is basic but comfortable enough and was very spacious. Getting to the hotel from the train station was easy by bus, but it is easy to overshoot the stop to get off necessitating a backtrack walk which was a bother with luggage. We opted to get to the airport by taxi rather than the bus and train route, and it was only 14 euros for three of us, and worth the extra cost for the convenience.
The staff were unfailingly helpful. The breakfast served in the cloisters of the old monastery was excellent. A very peaceful place and would highly recommend it.
Very friendly staff. Interesting building and very convenient location. Well priced. Very good breakfast. Interesting guests.
Noise from airplanes. The hotel is directly located in the path of departing airplanes from Pisa airport. Nothing the hotel can do about.
The atmosphere and the history of the place made for a wonderful stay.
Adequate for a short stay (1-3 nights) when you want to save money. The hotel is about 30 min waking from the airport and about 20 min walking from the central train station and the same distance from La Piazza dei Miracoli. The breakfast is simple but sufficient (cereals, milk, yogurt, choice of cheese and ham, coffee or tee, croissants). The inner court is pleasantly quiet.
The room was simple, equipped with a small sink/basin, without air conditioning. The toilet and shower are shared, located in the corridor. This can be of concern for the elder travelers who may want to use the bathroom during the night and also during the summer time, when it gets very hot in Italy and one may want to have shower every day.
Almost felt I lived in some medieval castle, beautiful courtyard and around the wall with tower. Inside also looks very stylish, the room was simple but with spirit, floor heating. Breakfast ok.
Had an external bathroom, but that was my decision. Not very close to the train station and leaning tower.
Lovely old building and open courtyard. Good breakfast with fresh croissants. Good bath room facilites. Good value for money.
Like a youth hostel with courtyard niose until the ealry hours so not ideal if you go to be early. No internet reception. A bit out of the way from central actiivities in Pisa but a 20 minute walk. Needs a better lounge area with internet reception.
Absolutely loved the courtyard and the silence
Rooms where slightly cold, not only in tempreture but also in decor. Warmer walls or simply a few picture would make the rooms much more attractive.
